As many of you know, I am a podcaster. Nearly two years ago, I launched The Budget-Minded Traveler podcast in an attempt to go beyond just the printed word to inspire and equip people to travel the world.
Two days ago, I had a conversation with two other travel professionals, Ginger Kern from The Traveler’s Mindset, and Nathaniel Boyle from Holocene, around the piece I wrote recently: 5 Beautiful Lessons I Learned from Making the Hardest Decision of My Life. We discussed it according to our own real life experiences of opening ourselves up to be changed by the world, specifically by solo travel.
Today, I published that conversation on my podcast. It might be the most powerful piece of content I’ve ever produced. I read the story on air, with raw emotion, and worked my way through some tough questions and inspiring conversation with Nathaniel and Ginger. The results? Take a listen, you’ll not only hear some of mine, I have a feeling you’ll create some of your own as well.
I’ve never said this about an episode before, but I feel like this one matters. If you listen to nothing else today, or this week, listen to this one:

I listened to the podcast this morning. It was vulnerable and brave. We’re all seeking understanding of our lives and of our surroundings, and of our own choices; and sometimes, the best way for me to understand, even my own thoughts, is to share them with someone else. Here’s hoping this discussion contributes to your clarity. Keep them coming!

I agree completely. Talking things out not only provides clarity for the one going through something, but I believe it benefits anyone involved, because we all need to be able to learn from each other. I also get this from writing, but even with writing you are still inside your own head, instead of welcoming the perspective of others. Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts!
