Brooks Seattle Tights: Completely waterproof running tights!
Why Brooks:
If you can’t tell from my packing lists year after year or my photos on Instagram, I am a huge fan of Brooks running apparel.
There are two reasons for this: their clothing fits me like a glove, and it stands the beating and constant wear I put it through.
In the interest of full disclosure, I have developed a relationship with Brooks, because I love their products. It’s time to give them a shout out and share one of my favorite (and most genius) items of Brooks clothing.
Why the Seattle Tights:
On my first trek through Patagonia in 2015, I was wearing a pair of lightweight Brooks running tights. When we hit a snowstorm, I got wet. Waterproof tights would have been nice, but I thought I was going to have to get bulky hiking pants to find waterproofing.
Wrong. Enter Brooks Seattle Tights, waterproof, insulated, ready-for-anything adventure tights.

What I love:
I wore these tights nearly every day on my most recent Patagonia trek, including through a snowstorm, and I stayed warm and dry the entire time. They truly are waterproof, and they even include a fully sweat-proof pocket in the extra wide waistband. I use a running belt with these when I run, and the belt doesn’t ride up at all with these pants or the Brooks Greenlight Capris.
These pants fit me perfectly. I have a 30” inseam, I’m 5’7”, 125 lbs and I wear a medium.
What I don’t love:
Because these have an extra layer for waterproofing, they can actually get really hot and not breathe well. They are perfect for cold temps.
The pocket in the waistband is supposed to be big enough for an iPhone 6, but it isn’t.
Would I recommend this product:
YES. I love that a pair of quality, warm, waterproof running tights exists, and as they are now tried and tested by the Patagonian weather, they absolutely get my stamp of approval.
Conveniently, you can buy them on Amazon.

Thanks to Brooks for making great gear. All opinions are my own.
